THE ROLE OF SANGHA IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, CHA-AM DISTRICT, PHETCHABURI PROVINCE

Abstract

This article was a study of the condition and comparison, to study problems, obstacles and suggestion of the monks’ role in community development, Cha-Am district, Phetchaburi Province. This mix-method research found that overall, the opinions of the respondents were at a high level, different personal factors resulting in different opinions, thus accept according to the research hypothesis. Problems and obstacles were lack of continuity and budget for supporting activities, lack of cooperation of people in participating in organized activities, not receiving cooperation from various organizations in which monks would participate in developing. Therefore, public relations activities should be provided for public awareness and participation, monks should be involved in building relationships with government agencies at all levels.
