ATTITUDES AND HEALTH BEHAVIORS OF CONSUMERS AT LAMAE DISTRICT, CHUMPHON PROVINCE

Abstract

Objectives of this study were to study the relationship of personal factor, health attitudes factor and health behaviors of consumers at Lamae District, Chumphon Province conducted by the quantitative research method. The population was a group of consumers with purchasing behavior of modern medicines and live at the area of Lamae District, Chumphon Province. The 400 samples were used in this study.

The results of study were found that the samples were females rather than men, in the age range of 41 - 50 years, single, bachelor's degree, operated private business with average monthly income 20,001 – 30,000 baht, and had the right to health coverage maintain from life insurance. The analysis of differences in sex, age, status, education level, occupation and eligibility for treatment affected health attitudes factor and health behaviors of consumers at Lamae District, Chumphon Province. In addition, it was found that thinking attitude, operational, environmental and economic aspects of the health of consumer groups were related to health behaviors of consumers at Lamae District, Chumphon Province. This study could be used as a guideline for modern drugstore business operators to improve the service system for the target customers appropriately and to formulate marketing strategies. It could also be used as a guideline for government agencies or agencies involved in formulating consumer health policies.
