PEOPLE’S POLITICAL PATICIPATION AFFECTING LOCAL ELECTION DECISIONS AT BAN CHANG DISTRICT, RAYONG PROVINCE

Abstract

Objectives of this research article were to study participation. Comparison of participation and to study problems and recommendations of people's political participation affecting local election decisions at Ban Chang District, Rayong Province, conducted by the mixed research methods. The quantitative research collected data by questionnaires with the reliability value at 0.979 from 363 samples randomized from a total population of 3,853 people using Taro Yamane's formula. qualitative research, data were collected by in-depth interviewing 8 key informants and analyzed by content descriptive interpretation. The results of the research were as follows: 1. The level of people's political participation affecting local election decisions at Ban Chang District, by overall, were at high level. 2. People with different age, education, occupation, and income, by overall had different political participation with statistically significant level at 0.05. The people of different genders, by overall, had no different political participation. Therefore, the research hypothesis was rejected. 3. Recommendations; People should be united to cast their votes as their duties by constitution. Political society will not deteriorate from good leaders. People need to focus on their decision to go to the polls because they see the benefits of elections. and to promote democratic form of government.
