BUDDHIST INTERGRATION FOR ENHANCING LOCAL POLITICIAN’S LEADERSHIP IN SARABURI PROVINCE

Abstract

Objectives of this research were to study the general condition, characteristics that promoted leadership and integration of ethical principles in Promoting leadership of local politicians in Saraburi Province. Research methodology was the mixed methods. The qualitative research collected data from 20 key informants using the structured in-depth-interview script and analyzed the data by content descriptive interpretation. The quantitative research collected data with questionnaires from 400 samples.  Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation.

Findings were as follows: 1. The general conditions of the political leadership of local politicians in Saraburi Province, by overall, were at high level with the mean of 3.75. 2. Leadership promotion of local politicians in Saraburi Province, by overall, was at the high level with the mean value at 3.52. 3. Integration of Papanika-dharma principles to promote the leadership of local politicians in Saraburi Province, by overall, were: Chakhuma, with the mean at 4.63, local politicians had a vision for local development and Kean in planning, Vithuro aspect, with the mean of 4.47, politicians had skills to manage local development, Nissayasampanno, with the average of 4.63, politicians had human relations with external people, creating development networks from inside to outside for local communities.
