KHEMAPALI STUDIES OF POLITICS AND A MONK IMPRISONMENT: A RECORD ON THE OCCASION OF THE 100TH BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY OF VENERABLE PHRA RAJRATANAMOLI (NAKHON KHEMAPALI)

Abstract

Memoirs about a monk and politics on the occasion of the 100th birthday anniversary of Venerable Phra Rajratanamoli (Nakhon Khemapali), former Rector of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University. He was a monk who spent many years in prison for political reasons. The study method was document research and analyzed in form of an academic article.

The results of the study indicated that political struggle, political thought and international politics were not concentrated only in politicians or political activists but also in monks and thinkers resulting in progressive monks and contemporaries’ political thinkers at that time were imprisoned for political conditions under accusations of advocating communist ideas. Venerable Phra Phimoladhamma was also imprisoned for the political reasons at the different period. This event has been recorded as a common memory on the occasion of his (Ven.Phra Rajratanamoli) 100th birthday anniversary.
