BUDHA-DHAMMA APPLICATION FOR PEOPLE’S POLITICAL PARTICIPATION PROMOTION AT NONG PRUE SUP-DISTRICT, PHANAT NIKHOM DISTRICT, CHONBURI PROVINCE

Objectives of this research article were: 1. To study the level of political participation of citizens. 2. To compare public opinions on the political participation of citizens, and 3. To study the of Buddhadhamma principles application for promoting people’s participation in politics and government at Nong Prue Sub-District, Phanat Nikhom District, Chonburi Province, conducted by the mixed research methods. The quantitative research, data were collected from 384 samples, by random sampling method using Taro Yamane’s formula. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The qualitative research, data were collected by using in-depth-interviewing 10 key informants Data were analyzed using content descriptive interpretation.
The results of the research were found that: 1. The level of political participation of the people, by overall, 3 aspects were at a moderate level. 2. Comparison of public opinions on the Buddhadhamma application for promoting people’s participation in politics classified by personal factors was found that people with different genders, education, occupations, and incomes had different political participation, by overall, at statistically significant level at 0.05 level, so the set research hypothesis was accepted. As for people of different ages, by overall, did not have different political participation. Therefore, the set research hypothesis was rejected. 3. Buddha-dhamma Application for promoting people’s political participation at Nong Prue Sub-District. Phanat Nikhom District, Chonburi Province was found that: 1. Elections should create opportunities and equality for everyone by applying Buddhadhamma principles, 2. Awareness of political transparent, and easily accessible 3. Being an active player in the community: Community leaders should encourage people to participate in politics and government of the people. It was an important principle that resulted in creating a more just and sustainable society.
