EFFECTIVENESS OF THE VOLUNTEER VILLAGE HEALTH VOLUNTEER’S WORK PERFORMANCE AT THA CHANG SUB-DISTRICT HEALTH PROMOTING HOSPITAL IN MUEANG DISTRICT OF CHANTHABURI PROVINCE BY APPLYING THE PRINCIPLES OF SOCIAL WELFARE

Abstract

The objectives of this research are: 1. To study the effectiveness of public health volunteers’ performance at sub-district health promoting hospitals. 2. To examine the relationship between the principles of Sangahavatthu Dhamma and the effectiveness of performance. 3. To explore ways to enhance the performance effectiveness of public health volunteers at Tha Chang Sub-district Health Promoting Hospital, Mueang District, Chanthaburi Province, through the application of Sangahavatthu Dhamma. This research employs a mixed-methods approach, collecting data from relevant documents and conducting in-depth interviews with key informants. The study population includes 147 individuals, with 10 key informants participating. The tools used were questionnaires and interviews, with the questionnaire's reliability measured at 0.918. Data analysis involved statistical methods such as mean, standard deviation, and correlation analysis. 

The findings reveal that: 1. The overall effectiveness of public health volunteers’ performance is at a high level. When considered by aspect, all areas also show high levels. 2. The relationship between the principles of Sangahavatthu Dhamma and performance effectiveness is overall at a high level. Each aspect is also individually rated at a high level. The principles of Sangahavatthu Dhamma include Dana (Generosity): The willingness to sacrifice for the benefit of others. Piyavaca (Pleasant Speech) Speaking kindly and gently.  Atthacariya (Beneficial Actions) Engaging in acts that benefit others. Samanattata (Consistency) Acting consistently and fairly toward all. 3. There is a moderately high positive correlation between the performance of village public health volunteers and the performance effectiveness of public health volunteers at Tha Chang Sub-district Health Promoting Hospital, Mueang District, Chanthaburi Province (R = 0.693).
