EFFECTIVENESS OF TEACHING AND LEARNING IN THE DHAMMA DEPARTMENT INFLUENCES OF THE SANGHA AT KHLONG LAN DISTRICT IN KAMPHAENG PHET PROVINCE

Abstract

Objectives of this research article were: 1. To examine the effectiveness of Dhamma Studies teaching and learning management of the Sangha Order in Khlong Lan District, Kamphaeng Phet Province 2. To compare the effectiveness of teaching and learning management in Dhamma Studies Department classified by personal factors and 3. To investigate problems, obstacles, and provide suggestions for enhancing the effectiveness of Dhamma Studies teaching and learning management of the Sangha Order in Khlong Lan District. The study employed a mixed-methods design. The quantitative data were collected from 167 students and analyzed using descriptive statistics: frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The qualitative data were collected from nine key informants and analyzed by descriptive content interpretation.

The research results revealed that: 1. The overall effectiveness of Dhamma Studies teaching and learning management in Dhamma Department was at a high level (=4.36), and all aspects were rated at a high level 2. When comparing the effectiveness classified by personal factors, age, years in monkhood, educational level, and position was found that there were no significant differences in opinions, rejecting the set research hypotheses; and 3. The major problems and obstacles included some instructors lacking teaching and assessment skills, insufficient budget for instructional media with certain types being unsuitable, and some learning environments being unconducive, such as hot classrooms in the afternoon and limited learning activities to classroom settings.
