Abstract

The objectives of this study were: 1. To study the level of elderly welfare provision of Phetchomphu Sub-District Administrative Organization, 2. To compare the elderly welfare provision of Phetchomphu Sub-District Administrative Organization classified by personal factors, and 3. To propose the application of the principles of Sangahavatthudhamma for the elderly welfare provision of Phetchomphu Sub-District Administrative Organization. The research employed a mixed-methods. The quantitative research with an overall questionnaire reliability of 0.971, collecting data from 372 samples.

The research results showed that: 1The elderly welfare provision of Phetchomphu Sub-District Administrative Organization, was at a high level, by overall ( $\bar{x}$ =3.82, S.D.=0.10). When considering the details of each aspect, it was found to be at a high level in every aspect. 2. The comparative results regarding the elderly welfare provision of Phetchomphu Sub-District Administrative Organization, classified by personal factors, were found that: The citizens with different gender had different opinions, by overall, at statistically significant level at the 0.05, thus accepting the set research hypothesis. The citizens with different age, level of education, occupation, and monthly income did not have different opinions with statistically significant level, thus rejecting the research hypothesis. 3. The application of the principles of Sangahavatthudhamma for the elderly welfare provision of Phetchomphu Sub-District Administrative Organization, was found that: The application of the Sangahavatthudhamma principles for elderly welfare provision involved Dana, generosity, Piyavaca, kindly speech, Atthacariya, helpful conduct, and Samanattata,impartiality, even- handed treatment. These principles covered all 6 key dimensions of the elderly, which are: health, education, housing, employment and income, recreation, and general social services.
