DEVELOPMENT OF THE HAPPINESS CREATION OF MONASTERY, PEOPLE, AND STATE ACCORDING TO THE 5S PRINCIPLES OF TEMPLES IN BANKHA SUB-DISTRICT AT BANKHA DISTRICT IN RATCHABURI PROVINCE

Abstract

Objectives of this search article were: 1. To study the level of monastery development under the “Wat, Pracha, Rat, Sang Suk” model based on the 5S’s principles; 2. To compare the monastery development under the “Wat, Pracha, Rat, Sang Suk” model based on the 5S’s principles; and 3. To examine the problems, obstacles, and recommendations for the development of monasteries under the “Wat, Pracha, Rat, Sang Suk” model based on the 5S’s principles at Ban Kha Sub-District, Ban Kha District, Ratchaburi Province, conducted by the mixed-methods. The quantitative research collected data through questionnaires from 384 people at the area and analyzed the data using statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and inferential statistics. In cases where statistically significant differences were found, the researcher conducted pairwise comparisons using the Least Significant Difference method. The qualitative research, data were collected by in-depth-interviewing 10 key informants, and the data were analyzed using contextual content descriptive analysis.

The findings revealed that: 1. By overall, level of monastery development based on the 5S’s principles was at a high level, with the highest mean in the cleanliness aspect, followed by sorting while the lowest mean was in the standardization aspect; 2. The comparison showed that gender, age, general education level, and income did not result in statistically significant differences in the level of practice, while occupation led to statistically significant differences at the 0.05 level; and 3. the problems and obstacles included limitations in space and infrastructure that were not properly organized, lack of continuous standardization in implementing the 5S’s principles, ineffective waste management systems, and weak community participation affecting the sustainability of monastery development. The key recommendations were that monasteries should accelerate the development of physical space and management systems based on the 5S’s principles, while strengthening cooperation mechanisms among monasteries, communities, and public and private sectors to overcome resource limitations and enhance participation, leading to effective and sustainable monastery development.
