Abstract

This academic article aimed to examine “Digital Public Administration and Public Sector Management in the Era of Artificial Intelligence” by analyzing the concepts, roles, significance, opportunities, and challenges of applying digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) in public sector management. The findings indicated that digital public administration focuses on integrating information technology and digital innovations to enhance public sector governance in order to improve efficiency, transparency, responsiveness, and the effective delivery of public services to citizens. Artificial intelligence plays a crucial role in big data analytics, scenario forecasting, policy decision support, resource management, and the development of intelligent public services. These applications contributed to greater accuracy in government operations, cost reduction, and improved service quality. In addition, AI supports the advancement of digital government systems, inter-agency data integration, and integrated public administration, which enhances policy effectiveness, reduces operational redundancy, increases accessibility to public services, and promotes citizen engagement through digital platforms. However, the implementation of AI in the public sector still faces several challenges, including digital infrastructure limitations, workforce skill development, cybersecurity risks, personal data protection, digital inequality, and ethical concerns. Therefore, the public sector should strengthen human resource capabilities, establish appropriate laws and standards to govern the use of AI, and promote digital governance based on transparency, accountability, and public participation. This will enable public administration to respond to citizens’ needs more efficiently, fairly, and sustainably, ultimately contributing to the modernization of the bureaucratic system and the improvement of public sector governance in the future.
