CHARACTERISTICS AND ATTITUDE TOWARDS TEACHING PROFESSION OF SCIENCE TEACHING STUDENT IN TEACHING PROFESSIONAL PRACTICES FROM FACULTY OF EDUCATION BANSOMDEJCHAOPRAYA RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY

Abstract
The objectives of this research are to study the characteristics of teaching, the attitude with teacher profession, and satisfaction on the intern experience of science teaching students in the course of intern experience skill II. The research group in this study was 60 fourth-year students in science major, Faculty of Education, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University, 30 cooperating teachers and 15 university supervisors. The evaluation was performed through assessments of the characteristics of teaching for teacher profession, the measurement of attitudes toward teacher profession, and the questionnaire of satisfaction on the teacher professional experience of science teachers. The data were analyzed by mean, arithmetic mean and standard deviation. The results revealed that;
1. The students had the highest level of characteristics of teaching ( = 4.59, SD = 0.49). In addition, the teachers and mentors agreed that the students developed the most of characteristics of teaching in moral aspect ( = 4.78, SD = 0.42). Moreover, students behaved well following the rules and regulations of the school ( = 4.88, SD = 0.33).
2. The students expressed the attitude toward teaching profession in good level ( = 3.98, SD = 0.78). Furthermore, the students had an opinion that teacher career was a prestigious and well-recognized in society ( = 4.71, SD = 0.49). Therefore, teachers are one of the most important factor in developing of human and society ( = 4.57, SD = 0.53).
3. The students were satisfied with their professional experience in good level ( = 4.07, SD = 0.70). In which, students were satisfied with the supports from teachers ( = 4.46, SD = 0.70) and mentors ( = 4.28, SD = 0.76).
