Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to synthesize theses composed between 1978 to 2016, and 2) to propose a trend of development education theses according to and affecting development of the country. There were 643 theses from 7 universities by documentary research, content analysis, interview and focus group discussion. The results of the research synthesis were:
1. Most were doctoral degree theses. The main objectives of the theses were to develop the community and analyze the situation and propose solutions to resolve current issues. The mixed method research was a complicated procedure and increased continuously. The finding of the theses were the body of knowledge, handbook and the model of policy implementation and evaluation of the past guidelines or development processes of the government, private and public sectors.
2. The proposed trends of development of the theses pertained to: 1) the university context, lecturers’ expertise and students’ backgrounds, 2) trends to support stronger interdisciplinary theses to create learning communities on genuine site-based and promoted online courses, 3) the vision of development of dynamic local, national and international programs, 4) trends to initiate the grounded theory that forms the good characteristic of technocrats, expertise and transformative leaders, and 5) scholar cooperation of lecturers and students to manage academic conferences or seminars and use social media as a platform of learning to coach graduates who could identify and solve problems and create successful development processes.
