Abstract

This quasi-experimental research, one group pretest-posttest design aimed to compare the volunteer behavior scores of nursing students before and after teaching and learning by using the moral project method. Samples were 142 nursing students in the 2nd year at Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Buddhachinaraj, who enrolled in the subject of Ethics and Laws in Nursing Profession. The research instruments consisted of 1) lesson plans by using the moral project and 2) volunteer behavior measurement. Data were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Dependent t-test. The results of the study showed that after attending the teaching and learning by using the moral project method, the sample group had overall volunteer behavior scores higher than before learning, with statistical significance (p < .001). When considering each aspect, it was found that all aspects of volunteer behavior scores, including sacrifice for society, helping others, and the commitment to develop themselves, were higher than those before attending class, with statistical significance (p <. 001).
