Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study reading attitude of undergraduate students in Early Childhood Education Program towards the supplementary book titled “The World of Early Childhood Education: An Eye-Opener”. The subjects were 65 fourth-year early childhood education students studying at the Faculty of Education from Mahasarakham University and Rajabhat Mahasarakham University participating in this research project. The research tool were the book titled “The World of Early Childhood Education: An Eye-Opener” developed by a researcher and a reading record form with 3-dimension attitudes: feeling, cognition, and action. Mean was used as research statistics. The research findings showed that the first two choices of each attitude component most responded were: 1) feeling—easy understanding language use (gif.latex?\bar{x} = 70.43, high) and getting enjoyable (gif.latex?\bar{x} = 36.75, moderate); 2) cognition—uses for study (gif.latex?\bar{x} = 64.96, high) and being substantial (gif.latex?\bar{x} = 60.00, high); and 3) action tendency—being applied to the real situation (gif.latex?\bar{x} = 67.35, high) and getting self-reflection (gif.latex?\bar{x} = 57.95, high).
