บทคัดย่อ
โรงเรียนกีฬาเป็นสถาบันการศึกษาที่จัดตั้งขึ้นเพื่อส่งเสริมและสนับสนุนนักเรียนและเยาวชนที่มีความสามารถพิเศษทางด้านการกีฬา และถือได้ว่ามีส่วนสำคัญในการพัฒนากีฬาเพื่อความเป็นเลิศของประเทศ รวมไปถึงการพัฒนานักกีฬาสู่ความเป็นเลิศเพื่อเป็นตัวแทนของประเทศเข้าร่วมการแข่งขันในระดับนานาชาติ วัตถุประสงค์ของบทความนี้ เป็นการแสดงให้เห็นถึง แนวทางการจัดการโรงเรียนกีฬาสู่ความเป็นเลิศ ซึ่งสิ่งสำคัญที่จะสามารถทำให้โรงเรียนกีฬาพัฒนาจากขั้นพื้นฐานสู่ความเป็นเลิศและเป็นตัวแทนนักกีฬาระดับชาติได้นั้นจำเป็นต้องมีการจัดการกีฬาอย่างเป็นระบบ ตั้งแต่ปัจจัยนำเข้าในด้านบุคลากร ด้านงบประมาณ ด้านวัสดุ อุปกรณ์และสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวก และด้านการจัดการ โดยมีกระบวนการของ การวางแผน การจัดองค์กร การชี้นำ และการควบคุม ซึ่งเป็นกระบวนการที่ทำให้การกีฬาของโรงเรียนกีฬาเกิดการพัฒนาไปอย่างมีระบบและก้าวสู่ความเป็นเลิศ
