Education for Civic Education in the USA -

Abstract

            This article studied the philosophy of civic education and its education services in the USA. Document analysis was employed for data collection. Content analysis was also used to analyze the philosophy and curriculum in civic education for US educational institutions. The findings showed that the philosophy of U.S. civic education. That is, the citizens must abide by the law and contribute to the institution of constitutional democracy and the fundamental principles and values upon which it is instituted. The educational institutes are responsible for developing the fundamental tenets of American democracy. The government practices are under the constitution, politics and citizenship. Most educational curricula' core philosophies are primarily based on civics and government, personal financial literacy, and economics. However, with the decentralization of the administrative system, each state is authorized to develop their own curriculum based on its American democratic philosophy.
