บทคัดย่อ
พยัญชนะกักในภาษาอังกฤษแบบอเมริกันสามารถออกเสียงย่อยได้หลายเสียงตามแต่จะปรากฏในบริบทใด บทความนี้ได้รวบรวมกฎการออกเสียงย่อยของพยัญชนะกักในสำเนียงอเมริกันจากตำราต่างๆ พบว่า มีกฎการออกเสียงย่อยอยู่ 11 กฎ นอกจากนี้ผู้เขียนยังได้เพิ่มกฎการออกเสียงย่อยของพยัญชนะกักที่ตำราต่างๆ มิได้กล่าวถึงไว้อีก 1 กฎรวมเป็น 12 กฎ โดยในบางบริบทสามารถใช้เสียงย่อยของพยัญชนะกักแบบภาษาไทยแทนแต่ในหลายบริบทภาษาไทยไม่มีเสียงย่อยนั้น กฎการออกเสียงย่อยของพยัญชนะกักที่ได้รวบรวมไว้นี้ นักเรียนไทยอาจนำไปใช้กับการฝึกออกเสียงสำเนียงอเมริกันได้
