บทคัดย่อ
หมู่บ้านต้นแหน อำเภอสันป่าตอง จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ เป็นชุมชนที่มีภูมิปัญญาที่โดดเด่นโดยเฉพาะผ้าทอไทขึนที่สืบทอดมาหลายชั่วอายุคน ผ้าทอไทขึนเป็นสิ่งที่สะท้อนถึงตัวตนของคนไทขึน ลวดลายของผ้าทอมีความหมายและความเชื่อของชาวไทขึน ทั้งความเชื่อในโลกปัจจุบัน ความเชื่อในพระพุทธศาสนา และความเชื่อในโลกของวิญญาณ ลวดลายที่ปรากฏในผืนผ้าทอและการสวมใส่ผ้าทอของชาวไทขึนนั้นมีบทบาทหน้าที่ต่อสังคมชาวไทขึน จำแนกได้ 3 ประการ คือ ประการแรก บทบาทในการอธิบายความหมายและเหตุผลในการใช้ผ้าทอไทขึน ประการที่สอง บทบาทในการรักษามาตรฐานพฤติกรรมที่เป็นแบบแผนของสังคม และประการสุดท้าย บทบาทในการเป็นสิ่งยึดเหนี่ยวจิตใจของชาวไทขึน
