Innovative Practices in Higher Education Administration

Abstract

Educational innovation in higher education is related to the teachers and students, the universities had to improve the quality of education. The educational innovation is a tool for the new teaching model.  It’s not research but it’s based on research. The types of innovation are as follows: Disruptive Innovation, Incremental Innovation, Architectural Innovation, and Radical Innovation. The instructors can apply innovation on teaching by creating new strategies in teaching by using thinking process, self-reflection, open-ended questions, flexible learning environments, problem-finding, inviting entrepreneurs and innovator into the classroom, encouraging students to take risks, or usage of design-thinking process. The future of innovative higher education trends in the next five years are as follows: the use of metrics in educational processes, redesign of learning spaces, costless and reusable educational media and learning, multidisciplinary approaches, adoption of an organizational culture to innovation and partnership between learners and teachers. Challenges of innovations in higher education include redesigning learning environments to better support learning, mobilizing technology to widen access, and improving the quality of digital revolution in order to support teaching and teachers, and partnerships for transformative education policies.
