Abstract
The author of the book “Non-Governmental Organizations, Management and Development”, David Lewis, explains how non-governmental organizations have evolved over the decades. It has now become an important component of “civil society” that policy makers around the world focus on. In this third edition, the authors have reorganized the material to cover key points since concepts and practices have shifted to non-governmental organizations as operators, development management, public management and management theory, a survey of the activities, relationships and internal structure of non-governmental organizations. As a reviewer of this book, interested in the role of non-governmental organizations being an agency that helps the government in social development including internal management of the organization. This book, in addition to presenting the concept and development of non-governmental organizations, helps to understand the framework for developing non-governmental organizations, an example was also presented to explain the non-governmental's operating process. It is therefore very useful for readers to analyze and understand other non-governmental organizations in different contexts.
