Abstract

This research “Playing Ranat Ek Mahori from Tab Mahori of Pattayakoson House” had the purposes for studying the context related Tab Mahori of Pattayakoson House and playing Ranat Ek Mahori from Tab Mahori of Pattayakoson House. The study was qualitative research which focused on the research process that would lead to the creation. The quantitative research process was used to publish the development the physical form of Ranat Ek.


It was found that Tab Mahori of Pattayakoson House consists of 5 songs except Tab Nang Nak and Tab Nok Kra Jok that had 6 songs. The speed of the song was at the second level. Ancient Tab Mahori used 2 types of Natab; Natab Probkai Song Chan and Natab Song Mai. General playing of melody method was playing melody. There were the compulsory guiding pattern and semi compulsory guiding pattern in some songs. There was Look-Yoan technique similar to Pleng-Rueng. Moreover, there was a use of Sam-nuan in Napat type songs. For Ranat Ek Mahori, Tab Mahori of Pattayakoson House used types of Korn Ranat like Korn Soi Luk So, Korn Tai Luad, Korn Muan Ta Keb, Kron Yorn Ta Keb, Korn Sab, and Korn Lord Ta Kai. Moreover, there were also unique methods of playing melody that were relevant to the sound of Ranat Ek Mahori. There was the special technique that had the pattern for practicing Ranat Ek Mahori in the other songs.
