SEDIMENT MOVEMENT ALONG THE COAST OF PHETCHABURI PROVINCE
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research aims to study the transport of sediment from the Phetchaburi River to the coast using satellite image data covering two seasons: the rainy season from May to October 2021 and the winter season from November 2021 to January 2022, found that during the rainy season, the sediment density rate is higher during the winter. Because there is a lot of water in the rainy season, there is more sediment and spreading distance.
The rainy season has a sediment spreading distance of approximately 13 kilometers. The sediment density rate is between 0.04 - 0.56 found in the upper part of the area around the mouth of Khlong Chong Pak Khlong Bang Tabun extra of Phetchaburi River. The density rate began to decrease in the Khun Sai Sub-district. until the tip of Laem Phak Bia and low-density rates from the first sand beach along the coast of the basin area until Pran Buri District Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, with high-density rates only in areas with waterways flowing out to the sea. The rainy season has a sediment spreading distance of approximately 5 kilometers. The sediment density rate is between 0.04 - 0.56 found in the upper part of the area. Around the mouth of Khlong Chong Pak Khlong Bang Tabun extra of Phetchaburi River.
