Abstract

This study aims to examine: (1) the quality of life of residents in the Ban Pracharath Rim Khlong Housing Project, (2) the factors influencing their quality of life, and (3) the development guidelines for improving the quality of life among residents in the San Chao Pho Sombun community. The sample comprised 171 residents, with five key informants including the community leader and committee members. A mixed-methods approach was employed. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation) and inferential statistics (t-test, F-test, and Pearson's correlation coefficient), while qualitative data were analyzed through content analysis and interpretation. The quantitative findings indicated that the overall quality of life of residents was at a high level (= 4.13), and the influencing factors were also rated at a high level (= 4.00). Personal demographic variables had a statistically significant effect on quality of life. Moreover, the aspect of living conditions showed a strong positive correlation with quality of life (r = .587**). The qualitative findings suggested three key strategies for quality of life development: (1) Occupational promotion, aimed at increasing income and enhancing self-reliance, particularly among individuals with unstable employment; (2) Community empowerment, through fostering participation in decision-making, development initiatives, and problem-solving processes, despite limited engagement from some residents; and (3) Environmental improvement, involving the development of clean, safe, and livable surroundings, with a focus on upgrading basic infrastructure and public space management within the community.
