Abstract
This research aimed to examine: the level of public participation in community solid waste management along the Prem Prachakorn Canal in Lak Hok Subdistrict, Mueang Pathum Thani District; the factors influencing public participation; andguidelines for promoting public participation in solid waste management. The sample consisted of 271 residents, and key informants included five community leaders and local residents. A mixed-methods approach was employed. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, while qualitative data were analyzed through content summarization and interpretation.The results revealed that community participation was at a high level (x = 3.93). The overall influential factors were at the highest level (x = 4.29). Personal factors significantly affected participation, and knowledge and understanding were highly correlated with quality of life (r = .641**). The guidelines for enhancing public participation comprised three aspects: providing knowledge and raising awareness regarding solid waste management; organizing activities and promoting practical engagement in solid waste management; and monitoring and evaluating solid waste management processes.
