Clients’ Information Seeking Processes for the Gender Reassignment Health Service Industry in Thailand

The study of “Clients’ Information Seeking Processes for the Gender Reassignment Health Service Industry in Thailand” is a quantitative research. The data were collected from a survey research method by a close-ended questionnaire. The object is to study the messages about the gender reassignment health services of Thailand and clients’ information searching processes.
The results found that the clients have the exposure, gratification, and interaction to 1)the messages about knowledge based on medical facts 2)the messages about establishments and 3)the messages about physicians, respectively. Moreover, the exposure, gratification, and interaction to these messages and the decision to get the gender reassignment services in Thailand are all related in direct variation. It means when the exposure to the messages is high, the gratification to the messages will be high, the interaction to the messages will be high, and the decision to get the gender reassignment services in Thailand will also be high. On the other hand, when the exposure to the messages is low, the gratification to the messages will be low, the interaction to the messages will be low, and the decision to get the gender reassignment services in Thailand will also be low. However, if the clients have too many interactions to the message, the decision to get the gender reassignment services in Thailand will be declined due to information overload.
