SUPPORTING MEASURES TO ASSIST THAI TECHNICAL INTERN TRAINEES PREPARE FOR THE LABOR MARKET IN JAPAN

Abstract

Currently, Japan has a severe labor shortage. To solve the problem of a labor shortage, the Japanese government established a policy by adopting Technical Intern Trainees Each year, many trainees participate in the Technical Intern Training Program. The Technical Intern Training Program is a system for inviting foreign trainees to work, allowing them to learn techniques and professional skills to develop their country. These Technical Intern Trainees expected an easy life abroad, but during the internship, they had multiple problems to face. These problems include only knowing the Japanese language for communication, having a different culture and values than the Thai people, and a lack of knowledge of the tax system, social welfare, and rights under labor law. This article presents measures taken by the Japanese government or an organization responsible for technical intern trainees who are involved in supporting and assisting technical intern trainees. And analyze additional measures that should be established as guidelines for helping Thai technical interns who are experiencing problems living in Japan and to enable technical intern trainees to work and smoothly integrate themselves into the Japanese culture.

The purpose of this article is to study measures taken by the Japanese government or an organization responsible for technical intern trainees who are involved in supporting and assisting technical intern trainees. And analyze additional measures that should be established as guidelines for helping Thai technical interns who are experiencing the above problems and to enable technical intern trainees to work and smoothly integrate themselves into the Japanese culture.
