EFFECTIVENESS OF THE MANAGEMENT OF A POVERTY ALLEVIATION PROJECT: A CASE STUDY OF BAN NON-TAN IN THAT SUBDISTRICT, RATTANABURI DISTRICT, SURIN PROVINCE

Abstract

This research article aims to examine the implementation of the poverty alleviation project, the factors influencing its implementation, and its overall effectiveness in Ban Non Tan, Village No. 14, That Subdistrict, Rattanaburi District, Surin Province. A qualitative research approach was employed, utilizing in-depth interviews for data collection. The data were gathered from the project committee and 10 villagers using a structured interview form. Content analysis was applied as the primary method of analysis. The findings indicate the following: First, the management of the poverty alleviation project was effective, leading to improvements in the quality of life and well-being of the community. Second, several factors influenced the effectiveness of project management, including economic challenges, low agricultural product prices, high production costs, and delays in debt repayment. Some previous borrowers struggled to repay their loans due to economic difficulties, further impacting project sustainability. Third, while the project implementation was generally effective, some participants expressed the need for more concrete solutions to economic issues, particularly regarding agricultural prices and suggested stricter debt collection measures to ensure smooth cash flow for the project.
