The Principles of Devotion to Bodhisattvas for Cultivating Happiness in Mahayana Buddhism

Abstract
This academic article explores the concept and practice of meditation in Mahayana Buddhism, emphasizing the cultivation of bodhisattva meditation, great compassion (mahākaruṇā), and great wisdom (mahāprājña). This study is grounded in Buddhist thought and academic perspectives both Thai and international the article examines the role of these meditative practices in individual development and their potential contributions to contemporary Thai society. The study highlights how bodhisattva meditation transcends personal liberation by promoting altruism and social responsibility, aligning with the Mahayana ideal of universal enlightenment. The article concludes by suggesting that these practices, when appropriately understood and applied, can enrich ethical consciousness and foster social harmony in modern contexts.
