Language Strategies in Idea of Club Friday the Series

Abstract

This paper entitled ‘Language Strategies in Idea of Club Friday the Series’ was purposely made to analyze language strategies in idea of Club Friday the series through the language analysis as follows: 1) figurative rhetoric, 2) diction, 3) arts in using language including the Buddhist concept on Pubbekatapuññatã and “Idea for Life and Society” of Phra Dhammapiṭaka (P.A. Payutto). The results gained from the study showed that 1) the three types of figurative rhetoric, 1.1 metaphor, 1.2 symbolic, and 1.3 metonymy, were found, 2) the four types of diction, 2.1 using the powerful speech, 2.2 using the teaching or advice speech, 2.3 satire and 2.4 irony, were found and 3) the nine types of arts using the language or stylistics, 3.1 pun, 3.2 simple and meaningful communication, 3.3 using to repeat, 3.4 relevant metaphor, 3.5 the words and structure, 3.6 the supported meaningful language, 3.7 the pun opposite its meaning, 3.8 the figurative language and 3.9 the summarized language, were found. In analyzing in light of the Buddhist concept, its results were found that: 1) Dhamma concept on loving-kindness, and 2) Idea of Dhamma on life of couple.
