Abstract

The objective of this research paper is to study the causes of problems and propose solutions for improving productivity. Is a practical research by going to study within the company on November 25, 2019 - March 29, 2020 to study on safety in the company and propose ways to improve productivity by in-depth interviews with key informants who are security personnel 10 oil transportation driver and oil pipeline operation control personnel. The results of the research showed that The cause of the problems from the analysis of the work process is that employees lack the care to perform their duties. And from the analysis of the safety productivity process by using the 5 Whys Analysis principle to analyze the root cause of the problem which is the driver lacking carefulness and use the familiarity and expertise of the road, so neglecting the traffic sign. Proposing solutions for improving productivity by using the principles of the Quality Management Cycle (PDCA). P = Plan organizes safety training activities for drivers and employees at the pipeline control department. D = Do Employees strictly follow C = Check. Drive that the car is ready to drive and have a person to check the order of wearing safety equipment before work and A = Action. It has more staff and equipment Safety wear every day to work. And the productivity improvement by staff training shows that the number of accidents decreased from 1 time / 4 months to 0 times / 4 months, indicating that after the accident improvement, the number of accidents decreased by 100%, resulting in The parts of the production plant are safer in the production process.
