Election of Provincial Administrative Organization President 2020 based on Thai Political Culture

Abstract
This academic article aimed to study Thai political culture in the 2020 Election of Provincial Administrative Organization President by studying related documents, textbooks, and electronic media and using the concept of Thai political culture theory to analyze the results of the election. Political culture was a pattern of behavior of people in society in the form of beliefs, attitudes, values, and traditions towards the political system in various forms as a result of political socialization which led to political expression. From the study, it was found that the expression of the people in the area still had a political culture with political values or beliefs still attached to the patronage system and the individual along with a passive style of Thai political culture that adhered to gangs or institutions, liked independence which was a combination of parochial political culture, subject political culture and participant political culture. This had quite an impact on the election of the Provincial Administrative Organization president in 2020, while people in the communities or localities where the elections were held had relatively little knowledge, understanding and expression of a truly participatory political culture. Therefore, the state should encourage citizens to have knowledge and understanding about participatory political culture, which will make people see the value and importance of political participation in which they can control, supervise, and monitor those involved to use local government power to truly meet the needs of the people.
