Stress of People in Chombueng Sub-district Municipality, Chombueng District, Ratchaburi Province in the Situation the Outbreak of Covid-19 Newly Emerging

Abstract

The objectives of this research article were 1) to assess the stress level of people in Chom Bueng Subdistrict Municipality, Ratchaburi Province in the situation of an outbreak of COVID-19; and 2) factors affecting people's stress in Chom Bueng Subdistrict Municipality, Ratchaburi Province in the situation of a new outbreak of COVID-19. It was a quantitative research. The sample group used was 370 people. The data was collected by using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. Factors that affected stress were analyzed using Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis. The results of the research were as follows:  the results of stress assessment of people in Chom Bueng Subdistrict Municipality, Ratchaburi Province by using the stress assessment form (ST-5) of the Department of Mental Health, overall had a high level of stress with a total mean of 2.61 and a standard deviation of 0.717; and 2) factors affecting the stress of the people in Chom Bueng Municipality were statistically significant at the 0.05 level, namely family relations aspect, financial status aspect, social and community environment aspect, physical health and mental health aspect.  All five variables could explain the variation in the stress of people in Chom Bueng Sub-district Municipality, Chom Bueng district, Ratchabuti province, representing 89.3 percent (R²= 0.893). The forecasting equation can be written as follows:

The predictors that had the greatest effect on stress were family relationships (^Z1), followed by mental health (^Z5), financial status (^Z2), physical health (^Z4), and social and community environment (^Z3) respectively.
