Management of Safe and Healthy Schools of Secondary Schools in the Lower Northern Region

Abstract
The purposes of this research article were 1) to study the conditions of selected factors and the effectiveness of safe and healthy schools; 2) to compare the selected factors of schools and the size of the schools; 3) to analyze important variables of the selected factors that affected the effectiveness of safe and healthy schools; and 4) to propose appropriate management in developing an effective school management system for safe and healthy schools. This was a descriptive research by collecting data from 849 personnel of secondary schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission in the lower northern region by a multi-stage sampling. The statistics used in the research were mean, standard deviation and One-way multiple analysis of variance. The results of the research found that 1) in the overall, strategic leadership and effectiveness of safe and healthy schools were at a high level. The school-based strategic management process was at the highest level; 2) the results of comparing school sizes revealed that large and extra-large schools had strategic leadership of school administrators. Management using schools as a base and being effective made schools as safe and healthy as possible. Small schools had the most strategic processes; 3) the results of the analysis of selected factors revealed that there were 26 out of 74 important variables that affected safe and healthy school management, which can predict 99.90 percent effectiveness; and 4) the guidelines for managing safe and healthy schools consisted of 5 guidelines: 1) safe and healthy school development plan, 2) personnel development and information technology for the operation of safe and healthy schools; 3) management aimed at safe and healthy schools; 4) creating cooperation with stakeholders in the management of safe and healthy schools; and 5) public relations of progress and success in being a safe and healthy schools.
