Public Participation in Solid Waste Management of Khlong Maduea Subdistrict Community, Krathum Baen District, Samut Sakhon Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research article were 1) to study the public participation in solid waste management of Khlong Maduea Subdistrict community, Krathum Baen District, Samut Sakhon Province; and 2) to compare the public participation in solid waste management of the Khlong Maduea Subdistrict community, Krathum Baen District, Samut Sakhon Province by classifying personal factors. This research was quantitative research. The sample group used in the research was 393 people who lived in Khlong Maduea Subdistrict, Krathum Baen District, Samut Sakhon Province. The research instrument was a questionnaire with a 5-level rating scale. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and F-test. The research results found that 1) the participation in solid waste management of Khlong Maduea Subdistrict community, overall was at a moderate level ( =3.18). When considering each aspect, it was found that the monitoring and evaluation aspect had the highest mean ( =3.29), followed by the potential and problem analysis aspect ( =3.22), the development strategy and guidelines aspect ( =3.20), and the project/activity aspect ( =3.22), respectively, 2) the results of the comparison of people with different genders, ages, education levels, marital status, occupations, and average monthly incomes participated in solid waste management of the Khlong Maduea Subdistrict community, Krathum Baen District, Samut Sakhon Province, showed statistically significant differences at the 0.05 level.
