Integrating Local Wisdom and Creation of Learning Innovations on Buddhism Subject at the Junior High school level in the Opportunity Expansion Schools

Abstract

The objectives of this research article were 1) to study the learning integration on Buddhism subject with local wisdom; and 2) to create the learning innovation on Buddhism subject integrated with local wisdom in the Ubon Ratchathani Primary Educational Service Area Office 3. The target group used in the research was 5 teachers teaching Buddhism subject at the junior high school level in the opportunity expansion schools, selected by purposive sampling. The instruments used were surveys, interview forms, and questionnaires. Percentage statistics was used for data analysis. The research results were presented in a descriptive and analytical manner. The research results found that 1) the Ubon Ratchathani Primary Educational Service Area Office 3 had local wisdom, namely Sim, Kalam, Pha Pha Wet, Khan Mak Beng and fish processing. It can integrate knowledge from local wisdom in a multidisciplinary manner with the curriculum of social studies, religion and culture at the classroom level; 2) learning innovation on Buddhism integrated with local wisdom through the SAAOL process, consisting of step 1: surveying the learning ecology system, step 2: collecting the results of the learning ecology survey, step 3: analyzing the connections of the learning ecology system, step 4: creating multidimensional learning management innovations, and step 5: linking the results of innovative learning management to the way of life, resulting in the highest level of satisfaction of teachers towards the results of innovative learning management that were valuable and meaningful to students.
