Creation of Media to Promote Teachers' Professional Training Skills by Applying Geographic Information Systems: A case Study of Social Studies Student Teachers, Faculty of Education, Songkhla Rajabhat University

Abstract

The purposes of this research article were 1) to create media to promote teachers' professional training skills by applying geographic information Systems; and 2) to evaluate the user satisfaction with media by applying geographic information systems to select and monitor professional training of social studies student teachers. The sample group used in the research was Social Studies students of Songkhla Rajabhat University who registered in the 2nd semester of 2021 in the Social Studies Learning Management course and the 1st semester of 2022 Teacher Professional Experience Training course, totaling 27 persons, and 6 supervisors, who were selected by purposive sampling. The research instruments were 1) evaluation form for media promoting teachers' professional training skills by applying geographic Information systems; and 2) satisfaction questionnaire. The statistics used in data analysis were percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The research results found that 1) the evaluation results of media promoting teachers' professional training skills by applying geographic Information systems in terms of geographic information system application were reliable and accurate in terms of distance and overall supervision zone division at a high level ( = 4.59, S.D. = 0.62), and 2) in terms of user satisfaction with media creation by applying geographic information systems, it can be utilized with an average value at the highest level of satisfaction ( = 4.63).
