Role Development of Islamic Committee of the Mosque in the Lumpli Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province

Abstract

The purposes of this research article were 1) to study the role of the Islamic committee; 2) to compare the opinions of the people in the area of ​​the Lumpli Subdistrict Administrative Organization towards the role of the Islamic Committee; and 3) to present guidelines for developing the role of the Islamic Committee of the mosque in the Lumpli Subdistrict. It was the mixed-method research, divided into 2 steps. Step 1: In the aspect of quantitative research, the population studied was 5,790 people in the Lumpli Subdistrict Administrative Organization. The sample group was calculated using the Taro Yamane formula, resulting in 374 people. The research instrument was a questionnaire with an alpha coefficient of 0.710 for the entire questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and F-test; Step 2: in terms of qualitative research, the key informants were 11 people who were purposively selected. The instrument was a semi-structured interview. Data was analyzed by creating a data summary. The research results found that 1) the role of the Islamic committee of the mosque in the area of ​​Lumpli Subdistrict Administrative Organization overall played a role in development at a high level; 2) different genders, ages, education levels, length of stay in the area, and occupations had different opinions on the role of the Islamic committee of the mosque in the area of ​​Lumpli Subdistrict Administrative Organization at a statistical significance level of .05, except for respondents with different incomes who had no different opinions on the role of the Islamic committee of the mosque in the area of ​​Lumpli Subdistrict Administrative Organization; 3) the guidelines for developing the role of the Islamic committee of the mosque in Lumpli Subdistrict found that the Islamic committee of the mosque should publicize and communicate to the public thoroughly about the criteria for violating or not complying with the Islamic religious precepts that required the name of the mosque's good people. Communication methods, such as video media and public address systems, should be used to reach target groups of all ages and all levels of education about the role of the Islamic committee of the mosque in the area so that they understood each other.
