Management Innovation to Promote Safety in Schools under the Suphan Buri Primary Educational Service Area Office 3

Abstract

The objectives of this research article were 1) to study the current and desired state of safety promotion management in schools under the Suphan Buri Primary Educational Service Area Office 3; and 2) to develop innovative management practices to promote safety in schools under the Suphan Buri Primary Educational Service Area Office 3. This was a mixed-methods research. Quantitative research involved a sample of 125 school administrators, one teacher from each school will be responsible for the school safety promotion project, totaling 125 teachers, and 125 chairpersons of the Basic Education school boards, selected using purposive sampling. The research instrument used was a questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.93. Statistics used included frequency and percentage. The overall mean was at a high level, with a mean standard deviation of 0.87. The qualitative research was conducted in two stages: Stage 1 involved drafting an innovative management approach to promote safety in schools. Key informants were the 22 members of the Safety Center Committee of the Suphan Buri Primary Educational Service Area Office 3. Stage 2 involved reviewing the suitability of the innovative management approach to promote safety in schools. Key informants were 9 experts selected using purposive sampling. The research findings revealed that 1) the current state of management and promotion of safety in schools, overall, was at a high level. The aspect with the highest average score was organizing activities to enhance practical skills and experiences linked to daily life. The desired state of management and promotion of safety in schools, overall, was at the highest level. The aspect with the highest average score was conducting workshops on school safety for teachers, educational personnel, and students; 2) the innovation management and promotion of safety in schools under the Suphan Buri Primary Educational Service Area Office 3 consisted of 4 components: 1) principles of the innovation, 2) objectives of the innovation, 3) management process of the innovation (SECURED), and 4) evaluation of the innovation.
