Abstract

This research article aimed to study the structural model of competencies of students in the Faculty of Education, Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University, using exploratory factor analysis as the data analysis method. This was the quantitative research. The sample group consisted of 545 students from the Faculty of Education studying in the first semester of the 2025 academic year, obtained through multi-stage random sampling. The instrument used was a 5-level Likert scale questionnaire with content validity ranging from 0.80–1.00, discrimination index ranging from 0.312–0.792, and overall reliability of 0.930. Data analysis was performed using exploratory factor analysis with orthogonal rotation using the Varimax method. The research findings revealed that the data were suitable for factor analysis, yielding 16 variables that did not constitute an identity matrix (Bartlett’s test of sphericity: χ² = 2528.417, df = 120, p < .001) and had a KMO value of 0.934. Factor rotation showed that there were 5 principal components that could explain 82.343% of the total variance: the component of teacher spirituality, knowledge and understanding of the teaching profession, learning management skills, research analytical thinking skills, and digital skills and learning innovation. The research results reflected a clear and comprehensive competency framework covering important dimensions of teacher student development, which can be used as a guideline for formulating policies or designing activities to promote the competencies of student competencies in the Faculty of Education in the context of Rajabhat Universities in a systematic way.
