Innovation in Training and Disseminating the EEC Mental Cultivation Course

Abstract

This research project aimed to disseminate the mental cultivation (Citta Bhavana) course of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) through blended training that combined online learning via BUU MOOC with on-site practice. This qualitative research used descriptive statistics to support the analysis and presentation of the findings. The target group consisted of 100 older adults and caregivers of older adults, either professional caregivers or relatives and friends, selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included a questionnaire, observation, and focus group discussions. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and content analysis. The results revealed that, after the dissemination of the mental cultivation course through blended training combining online learning via BUU MOOC with on-site practice, the participants’ overall knowledge, understanding, and abilities were at a low level before participation (  = 2.69) and increased to a high level after participation (  = 4.28). Item 6, methods of applying EEC mental cultivation to daily life and occupations, had a post-participation mean of 4.42, which was higher than the overall mean. The participants’ overall satisfaction was at a high level (  = 4.48). When considered by item, 11 items were rated at the highest level and 7 items at a high level.
