ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATION AND TEACHING EFFECTIVENESS OF TEACHERS IN THE SCHOOLS OF KRABI PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE

Abstract

The objectives of this research included: 1) to study the academic administration of the school administrators; 2) to investigate the teaching effectiveness of teachers; and 3) to explore the relationship between the academic administration of the school administrators and the teaching effectiveness of teachers in the schools under the Krabi Primary Educational Service Area Office. It was a quantitative research. The sample was 345 school administrators and teachers. The instrument of this research was a questionnaire divided into 3 sections. The statistics employed in the analysis were the Coefficient of Consistency, Percentage, Average, Standard Deviation, and Correlation Coefficients.

The research results were as follows. 1) The overall academic administration of the school administrators was at a high level. When each aspect was taken into consideration, it was found that the academic facilitation was at the highest level,   followed by the academic promotion and support, academic coordination, supervision, monitoring and assessment and academic assessment reports whereas policymaking and objective setting of academic administration was at the lowest level respectively. 2) The overall teaching effectiveness of the teachers was at a high level. When each aspect was considered, the potentials and capabilities of teachers and staff was at the highest level, followed by the emphasis on quality of creative leadership whereas management activeness was at the lowest level respectively. 3) Regarding academic administration and teaching effectiveness of the teachers, there was a very high level of positive correlation with statistical significance at .01 and a relation value of .806.
