DEVELOPING A CREATIVE CARE SYSTEM FOR THE ELDERLY WITH CHRONIC DISEASES IN PROMOTING WELL-BEING THROUGH COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION

Abstract

This research has the purpose to analyze factors affecting the care of the elderly with chronic diseases through community participation. and to make suggestions for the development of a care system for the elderly with chronic diseases by having Community participation, in Muang District, Chaiyaphum Province by studying personal factors family factors, and social factors of caregivers in caring for the elderly with chronic diseases. The population used in this research was divided into 2 groups, namely the main informants, the elderly, the caregivers of the elderly Village health volunteers Executives of local government organizations 20 staff of the district Health Promoting Hospital for the focus group, and caregivers for the elderly, both male and female with blood or kinship relations Living in the same household with 417 elderly people using stratified random sampling. Statistics used were frequency percentage, mean, standard deviation, statistics, and multiple regression analysis. The research findings were Family factors and social factors overall had the practice of caring for the elderly with chronic diseases with moderate levels of the practice of caring for the elderly. The aspect with the highest average was family security. Coping with family problems and family resources, respectively. The relationship of caregiver's personal factors and caregiver's role in caring for the elderly with chronic disease It was found that personal factors were mainly occupation and income sufficiency. There was a correlation with the caregiver's role in caring for the elderly with chronic diseases. with statistical significance at the .05 level (p<.05). The personal factors were gender, marital status, education level, comorbidities, accommodation, and relations with the elderly. There was no correlation with the caregiver's role in caring for the chronically ill elderly. Factors influencing the care of the elderly with chronic diseases by community participation found that the most influential factor that affects the care of the elderly with chronic diseases was the statistically significant community participation at the .05 level was the support from people outside the family. and adequacy of income level enough.
