THE TEACHER MANUAL DEVELOPMENT FOR STUDENTS WITH DYSCALCULIA IN SCHOOLS UNDER SURATTHANI PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 2

Abstract
The objectives of this study were: 1) to study the problems in learning management for students with dyscalculia; 2) to develop the teacher manual in learning management for students with dyscalculia; and 3) to evaluate the use of the teacher manual in learning management for students with dyscalculia in schools under Suratthani Primary Educational Service Area Office 2. The research procedure consisted of three steps as follows. Step 1 was used to study the problems in learning management for students with dyscalculia from the samples of 267 respondents, including school administrators and teachers, selected by simple random sampling. Data were collected by a questionnaire with the reliability of 0.95 and were analyzed by mean and standard deviation. Step 2 was used to develop the teacher manual in learning management for students with dyscalculia, which index of item objective congruence was evaluated by five experts. Step 3 was used to evaluate the use of the teacher manual in learning management for students with dyscalculia from the key informant of 40 respondents, including school administrators and teachers, selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected by the suitability and satisfaction evaluation forms with the reliabilities of 0.96 and 0.98, respectively, and were analyzed by mean and standard deviation.
The research findings were as follows. 1) The problems in learning management for students with dyscalculia were in a high level in overall and each aspect ranked in descending order: transfer, assessment and evaluation, preparation of individualized education program and learning management, and early intervention. 2) The teacher manual in learning management for students with dyscalculia consisted of objectives, explanations, and seven content chapters including Chapter 1: Useful knowledge about students with learning disabilities; Chapter 2: Dyscalculia; Chapter 3: Early intervention; Chapter 4: Preparation of individualized education program; Chapter 5: Learning management for students with dyscalculia; Chapter 6: Assessment and evaluation; and Chapter 7: Transfer. The analysis of index of item objective congruence of the manual showed that the index of every item was 1.00. 3) The evaluattion of the teacher manual in learning management for students with dyscalculia revealed that overall the suitability and satisfaction were in the highest level.
