THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN INSTRUCTION MODEL OF MARTIAL ARTS (MUAY THAI) IN THE FUTURE FOR ROYAL POLICE CADET

Abstract
This research aims to develop an instructional model of Martial Arts (Muay Thai) in the future for Royal Police Cadet by applying a research methodology; Delphi Technique. The research used a combination of qualitative and quantitative research techniques to analyze and synthesize data from research documents and in depth interviews with 17 experts.
The researcher reviewed research papers to analyze proper instructional model of Martial Arts (Muay Thai) and develop interviewed questions to gather preliminary information about appropriate instructional model of Martial Arts (Muay Thai) for Royal Police Cadets from 17 experts, then the researcher synthesized data from those experts’ suggestions and develop another set of interviewed questions which were tested reliability before using the set of questions to interview those 17 experts again. The quantitative and qualitative analysis of in depth interview with 17 experts revealed that the instructional models of Martial Arts (Muay Thai) in the future for Royal Police Cadets consisted of 5 main models and 16 patterns which are; 1. Course Philosophy (3 patterns)1.1 Produce a police officer with profound knowledge of Martial Arts (Muay Thai) through practical training 1.2 Apply knowledge of Martial Arts (Muay Thai) to operate police work to be relevant to the social context and community culture appropriately 1.3 Instill police profession ideal, morality and ethics 2.Course Objective (2 patterns)2.1 Be able to practice, operate and apply Martial Arts (Muay Thai) skills according to different situations 2.2 Be able to apply principles of sports science to develop Martial Arts (Muay Thai) as a defense skill appropriately 3. Course Structure (5 patterns) 3.1 History, value and benefits of Muay Thai Sport 3.2 Basic Muay Thai movement skill (Dodging) 3.3 Defense skills (Closure, Fending, Protection)3.4 Using body as a weapon skill (Attacking) 3.5 Stopping and controlling villains 4. Course Learning Outcome (3 patterns) 4.1 Experiential learning, demonstration and practice 4.2 Organizing group activities to create participation and active learning 4.3 Using instruction media, equipment and technology 5. Course Measurement and Evaluation (3 patterns) 5.1 Evaluation on Cognitive Domain 5.2 Evaluation on Affective Domain 5.3 Evaluation on Psychomotor Domain.
