THE DEVELOPMENT OF READING FOR MAIN IDEA ABILITY OF GRADE 7 STUDENS BY SQ4R LEARNING METHODMANAGEMENT WITH MULTI-MEDIA

Abstract

          This research aimed to : 1) develop reading for main idea ability of Grade 7  Students by SQ4R learning method management with the multi-media to achieve the mean score criterion of 70% of the full score and have the students at least 70% passing 70% of all students, and 2) study Grade 7 students’ satisfaction towards SQ4R learning method with the multi-media. The target group contained 10 Grade 7 disability students, Nongbuadaengwittaya under Secondary Educational Service Area Office Chaiyaphum, Academic Year 2022. The research methodology was the one-group posttest only design. The research instrument contained 1) 6 learning management plans, entitled Powerful Language within 12 hours, 2) the test to measure reading for main idea ability with 4 multiple-choice objective tests in 15 items, the subjective tests with 5 items, and the satisfaction questionnaires with 20 items.The research findings exposed that: 1) The reading for main idea ability of Grade 7 Students implied the mean scores of 18.50, equaled 93.50%, and 9 students could pass the criterion of 70%, equaled 90% of all students. 2) The students’ satisfaction towards SQ4R learning method management with the multi-media revealed at the most level (X̅=4.56, S.D.= 0.65) The aspect with the most students’ satisfaction, composing on Instructor level (X̅=4.64, S.D.= 0.05), and Multi-media. Level (X̅=4.69, S.D.= 0.48)
