THE STUDY OF NEEDS FOR DEVLOPING ACADEMIC ENGLISH SKILLS OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS UNDER UTHAITHANI PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 1

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: (1) to study the basic information regarding the needs for developing academic English skills of school administrators under the Uthaithani Primary Educational Service Area Office Area 1 classified by education, administrative experiences and school size, and (2) to use the information as a guideline in determining a model for developing academic English skills of school administrators under the Uthaithani Primary Educational Service Area Office Area 1. The sample used in this research were 136 school administrators under the Uthaithani Primary Educational Service Area Office Area 1 in the academic year of 2023 using a simple random sampling. The research instrument in this research was the questionnaire of the needs for developing academic English skills of school administrators under the Uthaithani Primary Educational Service Area Office Area 1. The statistics used for data analysis were mean, standard deviation and t-test. The research findings were as follows: 1) The needs for developing academic English skills of school administrators under the Uthaithani Primary Educational Service Area Office Area 1 in overall was at a high level. When considering each aspect, it was found that the skill that was in the highest level in academic English speaking skill and the skill with the lowest level are academic English reading skill. 2) The result of comparing the needs for developing academic English skills of school administrators under the Uthaithani Primary Educational Service Area Office Area 1 was the different education. It was found that in overall was at a high level. 3) The result of comparing the needs for developing academic English skills of school administrators under the Uthaithani Primary Educational Service Area Office Area 1 was the different administrative experiences found that in overall was at a high level. 4) The result of comparing the needs for developing academic English skills of school administrators under the Uthaithani Primary Educational Service Area Office Area 1 was the different school size found that in overall was at a high level, and 5) The pattern of the needs for developing academic English skills of school administrators under the Uthaithani Primary Educational Service Area Office Area 1 in overall was at a high level. When considering each item, it included the short-term training, creating media to develop English language skills by yourself and organizing study visits abroad, respectively.
