DESIGNING AND DEVELOPMENT IN LEARNING INNOVATION AND SPACE TO STRENGTHEN TO SKILLS OF THE 21st CENTURY THAT ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE WAY OF LIFE OF THE PEOPLE OF HUA HIN MUNICIPALITY

Abstract

          This research aimed to: 1) study and analyze the needs for 21st-century skills development among the PoonSuk community populace in Muang Hua Hin Municipality, Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, 2) design and develop curricula and learning innovations to strengthen 21st-century skills with the lifestyle of the PoonSuk community populace, and 3) encourage lifelong learning and skills development for the community. The target groups included teenagers, working-age people, and the elderly. The tools used were interview forms and communication record logs. Qualitative data were examined through descriptive analysis.

          The results showed that:

1. The needs for 21st-century skills development indicated that all three target groups were eager to improve their use of online tools and job skills utilizing the cultural and social capitals available in the PoonSuk community.


2. The design and development of curricula and learning innovations to integrate 21st-century skills revealed a willingness to strengthen new skills and job-related competencies. These curricula focused on Muang Hua Hin's historical and cultural studies and the promotion of community tourism.


3. Lifelong learning and skills development efforts showed that the target groups were motivated to engage with the two curricula. Additionally, the improvement of seven learning areas in both the PoonSuk community and nearby areas was expected to create tourism routes that would increase local and community income.
