FACTORS AFFECTING MOTIVATION TO ENLIST IN THE REGULAR MILITARY. BELONGS TO BURACHAT CAMP, MUEANG DISTRICT, RATCHABURI PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aimed to study the motivation level in enlisting in the military service at Burachat Camp, Mueang District, Ratchaburi Province and to study the factors affecting the motivation to enlist in the military service at Burachat Camp, Mueang District, Ratchaburi Province. The researcher collected data from a sample of 162 people. The statistics used in the research included percentage, frequency, mean, standard deviation, and hypothesis testing using multiple regression analysis. The study found that the overall level of factors affecting the motivation to enlist in the military service at Burachat Camp, Mueang District, Ratchaburi Province was at a high level. When considering each aspect, ranked from highest to lowest average, they were as follows: life security, followed by career advancement, social acceptance, and family, respectively. Factors affecting the motivation to enlist in the military service Under the Burachat Camp, Mueang District, Ratchaburi Province, namely, family (β = .378), life security (β = .371), social acceptance (β = .143) with statistical significance (p < .01 and p < .05). The multiple correlation coefficient (R) between the independent variables, career advancement (X1), social acceptance (X2), life security (X3), family (X4) and the dependent variable (motivation to enlist in the military) was .745, the coefficient of determination (R2) was .555, and the coefficient of explanation (Adjusted R2) was .544. The joint efficiency found that the factors affecting the motivation to enlist in the military, Burachat Camp, Mueang District, Ratchaburi Province, was 55.5 percent with statistical significance of .01 and .05.
