POLICIES AND DEVELOPMENT PROCESSES OF GREEN CITY IN UDON THANI PROVINCE

Abstract

The objectives of this research are as follows: 1. To study the policies and processes for developing a green city in Udon Thani province, 2. To develop a learning system and creative activities for Udon Thani Municipality’s green city, and 3. To assess the economic, social, and public impacts of Udon Thani Municipality. This is a qualitative study that gathers data through interviews, focus group discussions, and analysis to create a research-based knowledge guide. The research findings indicate that: 1. Udon Thani’s green city development policies and processes are focused on several sustainability-related factors, such as environmental conservation, resource utilization, and long-term quality of life for residents. Key points include: 1. Development of green infrastructure, 2. Water and energy resource management within the province, 3. Sustainable agriculture and land use, 4. Pollution reduction and waste management, 5. Community engagement and education, and 6. Promotion of the green economy. These policies aim to help Udon Thani develop into a sustainable green city, capable of adapting to global changes while enhancing the quality of life for residents. 2. The development of the learning system and creative activities in Udon Thani Municipality’s green city focuses on three key areas: 1. Economy – Emphasizes building a green community by enhancing skills and education, supporting entrepreneurs, and promoting the community economy. This also includes developing environmental infrastructure, using technology, and fostering partnerships to promote a sustainable and environmentally friendly city. 2. People – Focuses on lifelong learning, encouraging creative activities related to green city development, improving communication and teamwork skills, utilizing technology in learning, and creating learning spaces for creative activities. It also emphasizes skills that support sustainable living. 3. Society – Aims to develop green city-related learning curricula, support teachers and personnel in understanding sustainable city development, and encourage community involvement in green policy management.
